Our Christmas in Iowa

We spent the first week of break here in Des Moines and had a little Christmas in our apartment. My parents (Sloans) sent us a gift for Rocco from their cat, Louis. We made a bunch of pajama pants and matching pillow cases for Kamala's family; you can see the pink camo's I made for Kamala (I made myself Transformer PJ's!) We got to decorate the apartment with lights and our tiny christmas tree that we bought our first christmas. Sadly enough this was its last year. It died christmas eve, oh well I guess that means new tree for Kamala next year. The last two picture are from our traditional breakfast that we stole from Kamala's family (Andrews). They have pancakes with strawberries and whip cream. We made crepes this year which were totally yummy.
These pictures also show some of our presents from our stockings, (thats the only thing we open before breakfast). We had fun. We even had a christmas dinner with pork chops instead of turkey. Yummy yummy, Kamala is such a good cook!

So what happened inbetween posts?!?!

So, it's been a while since we posted, and we have a couple of cool pictures from the second week of vacation we spent in Northern California. We arrived New Year's Eve. Kamala's family saved all of their Christmas presents until we arrived, so New Year's Day we all celebrated Christmas (second time for us). Oh, and they saved a box of birthday presents for me from October, including transformers in the pic below.
We did a couple of other things for fun while there too. We went to Sacramento and saw Riverdance. Sorry, no pics allowed. But we also went to San Fransico. We got a couple nifty pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge, but they weren't great because it was sunset.

It rained the whole day, but we didn't mind, as long as it wasn't frozen! We walked all over Fisherman's warf, looked at some old ships from WWII including a diesel submarine like on U-571.

And here's a pic looking back at the hills of San Fran from the Warf. After wondering around the warfs and buying fresh clam chowder from the fish market we explored the Exploritorium. That was one of my favorite spots that day. There was tons of fun exhibits. We stayed there until they closed then headed off to see China Town. None of our pictures turned out from that part of town since the sun had set. China Town was fun. We even jumped out of the car to buy tee-shirts for $1.88. Cute shirts but scary part of town at a scary time of day. It was a fun trip to San Fransisco and a fun week in California. It even snowed the night before we left to come back. It had been so windy in town that it looked like a tornado went through Sacramento. It was a fun trip, now to plan the next one that will be during spring break for Kamala's yougest sister's baptism.
